Preferred Qualifications:

Responsibilities Include:

• Work closely with software development teams to create the "look and feel" for customer products.
  
• Construct multimedia content by combining graphics, text, and digital audio and video.
  
• Determine illustration and animation styles, color palettes, typography, and layouts of promotional demos, presentations, and printed materials.
  
• Research graphic design strategies and helps develop company-wide best practices.
  
• Maintain high standards of brand and exercise quality control on all design.
  
• Remain abreast of technological advances in the field and identify areas of use in the organization.
  

Duties and Objectives

• Prototypes software solutions.
  
• Writes unit tests.
  
• Testing and QA duties.
  
• Answers end-user technical questions about Vortx products via telephone and email.
  
• Researches third-party tools.
  
• Develops software either alone or paired as required.
  
• Documents code consistently throughout the development process.
  
• Maintains code base in secure repository.
  
• Supports senior development staff.
  
• Reports weekly status to the development team, including the Lead Developer.
  
• Responds promptly and professionally to bug reports.
  

Skills and Qualifications:

• Effective communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of clients and staff.
  
• Ability to work productively in a team.
  
• Working knowledge of at least one technology platform. ( MS Sql Server, MySql, IIS, Apache, MS Reporting Services, MS Office)
  
• Ability to work productively in at least one programming language. (e.g. Visual Basic, ASP/HTML, .NET CLR Compliant language, Java, TSQL)
  
• Knowledge of XML, XSLT an advantage.
  
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or similar field.

• Works with clients and internal teams to develop ideas for the "look and feel" and basic functionality of websites, including color palettes, fonts, layouts, navigation schemes, and image usage.
  
• Confirms design concepts by constructing site mockups in Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign.
  
• Implements design by creating skin files using standard web languages such as HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
  
• Provides graphic and image support to developers.
  
• Provides clients with image optimization and resolution recommendations.
  
• Ensures that sites conform to standards of accessibility, HTML validation, and browser compatibility.
  
• Understands and utilizes SEO best practices.
  
• Researches web design strategies and helps develop company-wide best practices.
  
• Maintains high standards of brand and exercises quality control on all design.
  
• Remains abreast of technological advances in the field and is able to identify areas of use in the organization.
